Rotate one of these spheres slowly under a light and you'll see it — a deep, silky band of gold that seems to float just beneath the surface, shifting and rolling with every turn. That phenomenon is called chatoyancy, and tiger eye might be the finest natural example of it. These spheres are selected for the richness of that golden color and the tightness of the cat's eye band, finished to a smooth, glassy polish that lets the stone do exactly what it was meant to do.
