This Pietersite Sphere, measuring 3.09" in diameter and weighing 1.5 lbs, earns its trade name — the Tempest Stone — from the moment you hold it. Swirling fibrous bands of deep brown, charcoal, bronze, and gold catch and shift with silky chatoyancy as the sphere turns, the light moving through it like storm clouds crossing a dark sky. The natural brecciated structure sets it apart from traditional Tiger's Eye, with fractured fragments and flowing bands that refuse to repeat themselves, making this sphere entirely one of a kind.
Rich, dramatic, and endlessly watchable, it commands attention on a shelf, desk, or beside a lamp where the light can do its work.
Designated for our Reserve Collection, this piece stands apart due to its magnificent quality and one-of-a-kind natural character. Round acrylic stand included. For a premium stand, shop the the Stands & Accessories Collection.
