Completely polished to a glossy finish, the stone reveals an intricate mix of olive and earthy green, blue-gray chalcedony, warm rust, tan, cream, and brown, broken into complex flowing and brecciated patterns that change dramatically from one side to the next.
Ibis Jasper is a distinctive Madagascar material characterized by its fractured and naturally re-cemented appearance, where sections of jasper and chalcedony have been broken, shifted, and mineralized back together over time. Areas of soft blue-gray chalcedony weave through the darker matrix alongside angular fragments, fine banding, and naturally occurring open pockets and vugs, giving the piece exceptional depth and geological character. Because of its Madagascar origin and colorful chalcedony patterning, Ibis Jasper can sometimes resemble certain varieties of Ocean Jasper, but its more fragmented, brecciated structure gives it a character all its own.
