This elegant Chinese Picture Jasper plate, measuring 8.22" in diameter and weighing 3.66 lbs, arrives like a landscape painting made by nature. It was sourced from the mountains of southern China, especially near Dali in Yunnan Province. Chinese Picture Jasper is a sedimentary stone prized for its natural landscape-like patterns that echo traditional brush paintings, with suggestions of mountains, drifting mist, and distant horizons. It is also known as Chinese Painting Stone, Chinese Scenery Jasper, or Shui Mo stone, meaning "water ink" stone.
As a handcrafted piece, this plate has a gently uneven surface, a mark of the artisan's hand that adds character and gives it an even more natural look. Stand not included. Shop the Stands & Accessories Collection.
