Found in the mountains of southern China, particularly near Dali in Yunnan Province, Chinese Picture Jasper is a sedimentary stone celebrated for its extraordinary natural artistry. Also known as Chinese Painting Stone, Chinese Scenery Jasper, or Shui Mo stone — meaning "water ink" stone — these remarkable pieces carry scenes reminiscent of traditional brush paintings: misty mountains, bare winter trees, and quiet valleys, formed entirely without human hand.
